Applicants for a Commercial Pilot License must hold a Private Pilot License
and a 2nd class medical certificate. At the time of the flight test applicants
must have gained a minimum of 250 hours total flight time, which must include
100 hours pilot-in-command (PlC), 50 hours PlC cross country with one flight
consisting of three landings at different airports, one of which must be
at least 250nm from the original departure point and 5 hours PlC at night.
Additionally applicants must have received at least 10 hours instrument
instruction and 10 hours complex aircraft instruction. Full time students
with the required hours will be able to complete the commercial course in
two weeks.
Course Breakdown:
20 hours flight instruction plus 1 hour for the test.
20 hours ground instruction.
