A total of 40 hours flying time is the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
minimum to qualify for a Private Pilot License. It is possible that some
additional hours of training may be required and if so these are charged
at the same rates given below. The FAA flight test normally lasts about
1.5 hours. Total time to complete this course from zero experience is 4
weeks if studying full time but allowances should be made for bad weather.
Students with previous logged and certified flight training time can have
this credited towards the FAA minimum with a pro-rata reduction in cost.
FAA regulations require a minimum of 17 years of age to qualify for a Private
Pilot License and you must hold at least an FAA Third Class Medical.
